Naftifine hydrochloride ((E)-N-methyl-N-(1-naphthylmethyl)-3-phenyl-2-propen-1-amine hydrochloride) is a typical Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) for the synthesis of allylamine antifungal and antimycotic drug, Naftifine(brand name Exoderil), for the topical treatment of tinea pedis, tinea cruris and tinea corporis (fungal infections). Naftifine inhibits fungal squalene epoxidase and prevents ergosterol biosynthesis. It also has antibiotic activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and has demonstrated anti-inflammatory properties.
