 2-Ethyl-1-butanol (also known as 2-Ethylbutyl alcohol, 3-Methylolpentane) is an intermediate used for the preparation of various pharmaceutical substances, such as novel branched Alkyl carbamates, acting as Anticonvulsant agents and GS-5734 as a novel antiviral drug in the class of necleotide analogs with potential treatment of new coronvirus (COVID-19). It is also a solvent employed for various organic synthesis, separation processes and ionic liquids, and solvent mixtures for pharmaceutical applications.
