FDI 6 (also known as NCGC00099374) is a potent and specific inhibitor of the Forkhead box protein M1 transcription factor (FOXM1) that blocks DNA binding. It displaces FOXM1 from genomic targets in MCF-7 breast cancer cells, and downregulates concomitant transcription.
Suppression of the FOXM1 transcriptional programme via novel small molecule inhibition.
Is there potential to target FOXM1 for 'undruggable' lung cancers?
[Forkhead domain inhibitor-6 (FDI-6) increases apoptosis and inhibits invasion and migration of laryngeal carcinoma cells by down-regulating nuclear FoxM1].
