(3R)-3-[(1,1-dimethylethoxycarbonyl)amino]-4-(2,4,5-trifluorophenyl)butanoic acid (also known as (R)-Sitagliptin N-Boc-Acid Impurity) is an intermediate in the synthesis of Sitagliptin,which is an oral antihyperglycemic (antidiabetic drug) of the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP4) inhibitor class. This drug was developed and marketed by Merck & Co. for the treatment of diabetes mellitus type2.
