(3S,4S)-tert-butyl 3-amino-4-fluoropyrrolidine-1-carboxylate (trans-1-Boc-3-amino-4-fluoropyrrolidine) is a useful fluorinated building block in the synthesis of various pharmaceutically and biologically active compounds, e.g. preparation of aminopyrrolidine factor Xa inhibitors (as anticogulants), bruton's tyrosine kinase and selectively substituted quinoline compounds that act as antagonists or inhibitors for Toll-like receptors 7 and/or 8.
