Hexafluorobenzene(also named as Perfluorobenzene) is useful fluorochemical for various applications, such as a solvent in photochemical reactions, a reference compound in fluorine-19 NMR and carbon-13 NMR, a solvent in proton NMR, IR spectrum and UV-spectra, and used as anticorrosive, antifriction and anti-tumor agents. Further, it is used as a reference molecule to investigate tissue oxygenation in vivo studies.
