Tris[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl]amine (Me6TREN) is employed as Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ATRP) ligand for the creation of telechelic polymers. The metal complex based on this N-containing ligand and cooper is the second often used catalyst in small amounts for ATRP without tedious purification to remove catalyst from final product.
