8-Quinolinesulfonyl chloride was used to prepare aromatic/heterocyclic sulfonamides containing 8-quinoline-sulfonyl carbonic anhydrase (CA) inhibitors. It is recently employed in the preparation of AG348 (PKM2 activator 1020) as a PKM2 activator (pyruvate kinase activator) for the treatment of pyruvate kinase deficiency.
Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors: synthesis of water-soluble, topically effective intraocular pressure lowering aromatic/heterocyclic sulfonamides containing 8-quinoline-sulfonyl moieties: is the tail more important than the ring? [1]
QSAR study on carbonic anhydrase inhibitors: aromatic/heterocyclic sulfonamides containing 8-quinoline-sulfonyl moieties, with topical activity as antiglaucoma agents. [2]
Pyruvate kinase M2 activation may protect against the progression of diabetic glomerular pathology and mitochondrial dysfunction. [3]
