3-Methyl-2-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-indole is a biologicallly important trifluromethylated building blocks of 2-fluoroalkyl substituted indole deratives.
In the case of nitrogen heterocycles, a pronounced tendency is developped by incorporating the trifluoromethyl group at the pyrrole moiety indoles (1-/2-/3-fluoroalkyl-substituted indoles). As promising medicinary and biologically benefical compounds, such heterocyclic R[F]-Indoles can be synthesized either via direct fluoroalkylation or via procedures involving transformations of fluoroalkylated building-blocks.
