 N-(Benzyloxycarbonyloxy) Succinimide (also named as Benzyl N-succinimidyl carbonate, Z-OSu, Cbz-OSu) is mainly used as reagent for the carboxybenzyl protection of amines, e.g. it is widely employed to protect amino acid residues in peptide synthesis.
